1966 Fender Tele Bridge Rewind for Tommy Tutone.

This rewind and repair is for Tommy Tutone on his 1966 Telecaster that appeared in the 867- 5309 Jenny Video.

This pickup came to me in pretty rough shape. The pickup was dead, no dc resistance reading and the string was missing, there was obvious damage to the coil wire and the ends of the bobbin were curled up. The pickup has a lot of pick wear on top of the bobbin and a considerable amount of corrosion which is probably the cause of the original failure.

Once I got the wire off there was significant corrosion on the magnets. I cleaned the corrosion and pressed the fiberboard flat and square. I applied some super glue to the fiberboard and magnets to help keep them secure then i dipped the pickup in laquer to help insulate and secure the bobbins further. After the hand rewind with 42 Enamel wire I wrapped some new aged thread around the coil and soldered the base plate in place before a final potting.
